Great tips, birthdays parties don't need to be over the top on budget to be over the top on fun. I have a great idea that will also save you heaps in the food department, I use this method in the parties I do all the time, a food bag...box, basket or any other kind of container, but seriously, the good old brown paper bag works a treat, though if you must you can get nice coloured ones from a craft store.
Basically the benefit is that you can manage portions so there is no wastage, save on disposable party plates etc and make sure everyone with allergies is taken care of too.
