About to Pop! Baby Shower Party Theme

Filed under: Baby Shower, General — Kathryn @ 2:13 pm

Anyone who has been nine months pregnant knows the feeling.  I surely can’t get any bigger, you say to yourself.  But, yes, your belly will continue to grow!  Yes, your ribcage will continue to expand!  In empathy with all pregnant women out there, we’ve created a fun baby shower theme – About to Pop!

Invitations and Stationery

Set the scene for your About to Pop baby shower with “Admit One” ticket invitations tied to a popcorn box.  Popcorn boxes and admit one ticket invitations are readily available from party shops (like Pink Frosting) and make a real statement about the shower.  Make sure all of your stationery, party invitations, envelopes and decorations are in white and red to tie the theme together.

Setting the Scene – Decorations and Party Ware

Decorate your venue (lounge room, garden, home theatre) in red and white.  Red and white check tablecloth, red and white balloons, red and white platters, red and white checked napkins.  Create a fun centrepiece using helium filled balloons in red and white, strung with red and white striped ribbon, held into place with a weight which sits inside a popcorn box.  Fill around the weight (like you would a potplant) with popcorn which spills out onto the table.  So fun!

Menu and Catering

In a word:  popcorn!  There are so many fun popcorn-themed dishes to serve.  Serve plenty of savory flavoured and sweet flavoured popcorn in great big white and red ceramic bowls.  Try new and interesting flavours such as cheesy popcorn, cinnamon and apple flavour with apple sauce and cinnamon butter sauce, caramel with macadamia nuts, and rocky road popcorn (with flecks of cherry, chocolate and marshmallow) served as dessert in a milk chocolate bowl.  Indulgent and yummy!

To balance all of these flavours, serve yummy mocktails of fresh juice and spritzer to keep your guests happy.

Favors and Guest Gifts

The new Kate Aspen “About to Pop” baby shower popcorn boxes are just the ticket.  Fill them with lollies, candies, unpopped popcorn (if your guests still have a taste for it after all that indulgence!) and send your guests home happy!

Happy Celebrating!
