As an icing fanatic and someone in awe of those who are clever enough to make a living from decorating stupendous wedding, party and any type of celebration cake, I am dedicating Sundays to my choice of Cake of the Week. I’m starting with my favourite Canberra wedding cake designer, Cakes of Your Dreams, who delivered this beautiful Indian lace wedding cake to us for Caterina and Joe’s wedding last night. Susan and her team are so talented, they just astound me.
The detail on the lacing is quite exquisite as is the detail of the belt of rhinestones around the joins between each tier. Hand-crafted sugar roses adorn the top layer of the cake, rendering a cake topper unecessary.
This is a stunning example of sugarcraft from Cakes of Your Dreams and is deserving of being honoured as the first featured cake in my Cake of the Week!
Happy Celebrating!
Kathryn

This is stunning! I love this lace. It’s a twist on the traditional cake without taking it too far. Gorgeous! I await more each Sunday.
