This week (and often lately) I am consumed by all things Japanese.  For this reason and so many others, Cherry Blossoms are on the top of my favourite blooms right now because not only do they make an outstanding table decoration, they are also a gorgeous theme for your wedding.  Who could resist the pretty, subtle blooms and the awesome scent delivered by these precious trees?  Richly symbolic to the Japanese, the cherry blossom is an omen of good fortune and is also an emblem of love, affection and represents Spring.  Can you think of a lovelier theme for your wedding, so steeped in tradition and symbolism?

I’m adoring this dessert table and cherry blossom cake by the awe-inspiring Amy Atlas.  Amy designed this bold, patterned dessert table for a wedding. The fuschia cherry blossom tree cake was inspired by a wedding invitation.   Custom lollipop trees were created to complement the cake, as well as raspberry truffles, chocolate and mini cupcakes.

I think I am in love!

For anyone planning a September wedding this year, this is a wonderful inspiration for your theming, dessert and wedding cake.   If you’re looking for more cherry blossom themed decorations, visit Pink Frosting’s online wedding shop where the Pink Frosting wedding stylists have assembled a huge array of beautiful cherry blossom themed stationery, favors, decorations and accessories for your wedding day.

Happy Celebrating!

Kathryn
